    Superior Labeling
I have owned a PT1400 for a very long time and it has been a good labeler so I was a little hesitant buying a new one. Although the PT7600 is double the cost of the PT1400 it is worth it. I like the physical characteristics of the device. I fits in my hand perfectly and is easy to navigate and use. Prints great labels and I love the fact that I don't have to have different tape cartridges for the PT1400 and the PT7600. All the device needs now is voice command and it would be perfect!

    Didn't work for me
Every time you print, it spits out one inch of blank tape and displays "CUT TAPE TO CONTINUE", which FORCES you to waste 1 inch of tape every single time you print a label. That is downright crooked. You have to mash every letter to type. Characters will soon print with small vertical blank spaces inside the letters, making them longer than they should be and less legible. I mostly love Brother products. I have an MFC-8710DW on my desk at work. Great product. But this P-Touch is a complete disappointment.

Expensive and wasteful machine. Buy an Epson instead
We purchased this label maker about a year ago to replace an older brother model that lasted a long time. I was happy with the older model so thought it would be worth while to spend the extra money for the PT-7600. I really regret this decision and wish I had done my homework. My biggest complaint about the PT-7600 is that every time you print a label, you waste a 1" piece of tape. I can't tell if there is any legitimate reason for this other than to waste expensive tape so you have to buy more, but our old model didn't do this and there appears to be no way to disable this. Before you print a label, it will spit out a 1" piece of blank tape and then prompt you to "Cut tape to continue". After you cut off this wasted piece of tape, it will now print your label. It does this before *every* label you print!! If you are printing 12 labels, you will be wasting 12" of tape for no reason. At $15-20 per tape cartridge, this wasted tape really adds up. I also dislike the layout of the...
